About The Position
Our client is a leading force in the North American energy sector, driving innovation in sustainable power generation and infrastructure development. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Engineer to join a critical construction project that will shape the future of energy delivery. This is a hands-on, site-based contract role requiring extensive engineering expertise and leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring engineering excellence, compliance, and project success for a major energy construction initiative.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) required; Master's degree preferred
- 11-15 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a senior role
- Extensive experience in energy, utilities, or heavy industrial construction projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- Proficiency with engineering software, design standards, and construction methodologies
- Demonstrated success on projects exceeding $50M in value
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface at all organizational levels
- Must be available to work on-site for the duration of the contract
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level engineering oversight and technical direction for large-scale energy construction projects
- Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including project managers, contractors, and field personnel
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance audits to verify construction adherence to engineering plans
- Resolve complex technical issues and provide engineering solutions in real-time
- Develop and implement engineering procedures and best practices for the project
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the construction team
- Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and risk assessments
