About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Environmental Engineer to support our environmental initiatives in Orange County, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong background in hazardous waste management, environmental engineering with a focus on air quality & chemical inventory management manufacturing and R&D settings. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure environmental impact assessments, mitigation strategies and regulatory requirements are met.

Requirements

3+ years if experience in overseeing hazardous waste management, environmental engineering or environmental compliance, ideally within the aerospace, manufacturing or R&D settings
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with leadership, regulators, front-line staff, and third-party partners
Experience with 40 CFR Parts 260-279 for Hazardous Waste Management
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

Nice To Haves

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience in environmental engineering safety with a strong focus in Hazardous Waste Management
HAZWOPER 40-hour, and RCRA/DOT certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

Ensure environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including hazardous materials, waste management, water and air quality to meet industry standards
Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Orange County Sanitation District (OC Sans), SMARTs, and CERs
Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage
Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and ensure compliance with environmental regulatory requirements
Support the development and implementation of sustainability programs to reduce company’s carbon footprint, energy usage, waste and resource consumption
Assist with Environmental incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
Serve as the key liaison with employees, management, customers, auditors, and regulators
Conduct environmental inspections to identify and document and address environmental hazards
