About The Position

As a key technical contributor to New Product Development, NPD engineer for Commercial Faucets is uniquely positioned to identify and drive innovations and user experiences. If you are the type of engineer who likes to get into the details of a design, but also craves the understanding of how your work fits into the larger picture, this position is for you. Working in highly cross-functional teams, you will design and validate parts, assemblies, and systems that delight consumers. Driving speed and quality of product launches will directly contribute to Kohler’s leadership in the global kitchen and bath industry. The New Product Development Engineer for Commercial Faucets applies core engineering principles and structured problem-solving to deliver high-quality designs, conducts feasibility analyses, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to launch innovative products efficiently. The role leverages global technical resources, promotes sustainability through design evaluation and improvement recommendations, and engages with customers and experts to enhance product quality. Attention to detail is crucial, as the engineer coordinates testing, manages documentation such as bills of materials and timelines, and facilitates technical communications to ensure successful product launches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (PTC Creo is highly preferred).
  • At least 4 years of experience in an engineering field.
  • Ability to work independently and with a cross-functional team.
  • Self-directed with creative problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to independently test, analyze and solve technical problems.
  • Must exhibit excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Working experience in mechanical engineering for electronics products will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handles responsibilities and performs tasks for technical assignments of fairly broad scope under general direction of supervisor.
  • Documents and achieves product specifications: customer, regulatory, and technical requirements.
  • Utilizes CAD software for the realization of concepts or designs. (CREO preferred).
  • Assures functional acceptability through application of engineering tools, analysis, and testing.
  • Documents and presents experiences (both positive and negative) to share knowledge within and outside the department.
  • Occasional travel to visit suppliers, customers, tradeshows, and other Kohler locations as required.
  • Mentors and supports less experienced engineers and technical support personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
