Senior Engineer, Aerodynamics and Performance (R4678)
About The Position
As an Aerodynamics and Performance Engineer, you will work across disciplines to enable aircraft design, build, test, and flight. This role will lead aerodynamics and performance engineering for V-BAT. In this capacity, you will create aerodynamics models for V-BAT configurations, work across teams to analyze flight test data, and determine methods to improve aircraft performance. In addition, you may contribute to aircraft conceptual and aerodynamic design for future unmanned air vehicle concepts. A successful candidate will have hands-on experience on an aircraft program that is flying or has flown, along with experience generating aerodynamic models, especially using flight test data. Ability to work across teams is crucial, as this role will regularly interface with leadership, flight test engineers, GNC engineers, propulsion engineers, and customer support.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering; or equivalent
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as an Aerodynamics/Aerospace/Performance/Flight Sciences Engineer
- Strong technical fundamentals
- Experience on an aircraft / UAV program with flight tests, ideally one in production
- Demonstrated track record of extreme ownership, working hard, and delivering outstanding outcomes
- Experience partnering with a multidisciplinary engineering team
- You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
