Aerodynamics Engineer Intern
About The Position
Are you passionate about applying your Aerodynamics knowledge to the solution of novel problems? Can you mix low and high-fidelity tools in order to achieve efficient designs that deliver aero performance, save mass and are easy to manufacture? Do you want to join a talented team, furthering your engineering abilities and driving innovation at a crucial stage in the development life cycle of our products? The Aerodynamics team is looking for an Aerodynamics Engineer Intern to join us during the summer! We use best-in-class simulation and experimental tools to generate the datasets that drive our development. As an intern you will get exposure and be supporting our activities. To be a successful candidate you are expected to have advanced knowledge about aircraft aerodynamics and flight mechanics. The desired term for this internship is about 3 months in summer 2026. Exact dates are flexible depending on the candidate.
Requirements
- BSc or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Fundamental understanding of aircraft performance analysis and predictions.
- Knowledge various aerodynamic analysis techniques, including hand calculations, VLM/panel methods, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Programming experience in Python/MATLAB
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience using low/high fidelity numerical simulations platform (STARCCM+, AVL, OpenVSP, XFOIL, XROTOR)
- Experience in student associations projects (like AIAA build-design-fly)
Responsibilities
- Support the Aerodynamic Design with low- and high-fidelity simulations.
- Support the development of new tools for aerodynamic analysis.
- Documentation of your work and communication with the team
