If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about developing leading-edge manufacturing processes for high-reliability, high-volume satellites, we would like to hear from you. In this position, you will be responsible for the establishing the manufacturing of CesiumAstroâs satellite platform. You will enable mission success via the tools and mindset of manufacturing engineering. Support the transition of prototypes to full-scale production by collaborating with design and engineering teams. Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications for satellite manufacturing. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing defects in electronics and mechanical components. Be a manufacturing representative to outside CMâs and help ensure timely delivery, quality of external hardware. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of the company. You will work closely with the engineering team, program management to ensure the successful build and launch of our satellite. Element will be the largest, most powerful rideshare satellite in LEO. Weâre launching eight of them in the next four years, starting with our first launch this year. Together, our small team will design, build, and iterate to reduce mass and cost while increasing performance, reliability, and manufacturability of a new generation of satellites. Letâs build!
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of aerospace industry experience.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of electronics hardware.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly
- Experience with change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with cost analysis, managing suppliers, and configuration management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in an NPI Environment
- Ability to establish scalable manufacturing processes.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in aerospace or other high-reliability industries.
- Proficiency with PLM and ERP software.
- Proficiency in AS9100/ISO9001 quality management system requirements.
- Experience successfully tackling multiple high-priority tasks.
- Working with national cross functional teams
