About The Position

Please join us as a Electronics Engineer , where you will work on the development of Electrical Power Subsystems for the Deep Space Exploration Mission Operations group within Space Systems. Location: This position does not support teleworking ; the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton CO You will be working a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. What does this role look like? This position will support the Deep Space Exploration Mission Operations group within Space Systems Company as the Electrical Power Subsystem team member supporting the ODY, JUNO, MRO, Osiris-APEX, and Lucy Spacecrafts during their primary and extended missions, performing and leading subsystem operations engineering tasks.

Requirements

  • Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS) engineering knowledge & experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • General Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS) engineering knowledge & experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent presentation, oral and written skills
  • Demonstrated ability to act independently
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to produce and present to Program Management and Customer.
  • Experience with PSPICE, SABER, MMPAT or equivalent electronics Simulation Tool
  • Experience with coding in Python
  • Experience developing high power, high reliability systems for spacecraft, aircraft, automotive or similar complex systems.
  • Experience with using Li Ion batteries in a power system
  • Experience with Space Radiation and Single Event Upset effects experience relative to EPS components
  • Experience with Solar Array and Battery performance and degradation for space applications
  • Knowledge of battery charge control and cell balancing of Li Ion batteries

Responsibilities

  • Modeling and prediction of subsystem energy and bus performance during future operations, monitoring real-time Power subsystem performance, trending subsystem performance, analysis of problems and documentation of problems and corrective actions.
  • Provide subsystem inputs to systems engineering for spacecraft sequence development and review the resulting sequences for correct operation of the subsystem, for both nominal and special event sequences.
  • Review test results from spacecraft test labs and simulators for proper use and functionality of Electrical Power Subsystem components.
  • Maintain a database of current and long-term subsystem trending and performance data for quarterly and yearly reviews.
  • Maintain and update software tools for sequence review, performance prediction and other tasks.
  • Support team meetings and periodic reviews.
  • Occasionally working irregular work hours in support of special activities.
