About The Position

Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a Senior Electronic Checklist (ECL) Editor to join our team in Seattle, WA. The Electronic Checklist (ECL) Editor is responsible for the development, authoring, validation, and continuous improvement of Boeing flight crew electronic checklist content across all in-production and development airplane programs. This role ensures that checklist logic, structure, and content are operationally sound, compliant with regulatory requirements, and aligned with Boeing flight crew procedures, Airplane Flight Manual (AFM), and Flight Crew Operations Manual (FCOM) philosophy. The ECL Editor plays a critical role in flight deck safety by translating complex system, procedural, and non-normal operations into clear, intuitive, and executable checklist logic for airline crews worldwide.

Requirements

  • The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Experience with technical writing and editing
  • Knowledge of aircraft and aircraft systems

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial, ATP, or military pilot experience
  • Experience in aviation operations, flight deck procedures, technical publications, or systems engineering
  • Experience with Boeing or equivalent flight deck philosophy and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Author, revise, and maintain ECL content for normal and non-normal procedures.
  • Ensure alignment between ECL, normal, non-normal checklists, and flight crew procedures.
  • Develop and validate checklist logic and crew alerting system integration.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate system behavior representation.
  • Support integration of ECL within flight deck displays and crew alerting systems.
  • Participate in simulator evaluations and lab testing to validate checklist operational suitability.
  • Support certification activities for new or in-production airplanes.
  • Ensure checklist content meets regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze operator feedback, in-service data, and safety reports to improve checklist effectiveness.
  • Drive standardization and simplification of checklist philosophy across airplane programs.
  • Support modernization of ECL tools, processes, and data management systems.
