Johnson Controls - Fire Suppression Products (FSP) is a global leader in fire and life safety. Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Senior Electromechanical Program Manager to lead complex, high-impact projects from inception through completion. In this role, you will provide end-to-end program leadership, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational objectives. You will oversee all aspects of project execution, including defining milestones, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and tracking progress across cross-functional teams. This role requires a confident leader who can effectively navigate a matrixed organization, influence stakeholders, and drive results. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in engineering and project management principles, paired with strong judgment and the ability to solve complex challenges independently. You’ll rely on your extensive experience to plan strategically, manage risk, and deliver clear, concise status updates and reports to senior leadership. Location & Relocation: This is an onsite position based in Marinette, WI, or Cranston, RI. Candidates must be within commuting distance of either location or willing to relocate. Multiple relocation packages are available to support your move.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering related discipline
  • 8 years of professional experience in product design, new product introduction in a manufacturing industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in program management.
  • Product launch experience

Nice To Haves

  • Fire protection industry experience
  • PMP® certification
  • Visio experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Product Development and manufacturing business experience required (i.e. working with design engineers, manufacturing, sourcing, product management, marketing, etc.)
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrate the organization’s values by bringing issues to the appropriate managers in a timely manner for resolution, sharing best practices among all teams, serving as a brand advocate, mentoring and leading by example to support a positive work environment, and encouraging other staff to do the same.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and assist them, as appropriate, with issues or concerns to satisfactory resolution.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing product development projects to completion.
  • Can deal with ambiguity – Can effectively cope with change, shift gears, and make decisions.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong conflict management and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to perform as a team player.
  • KNOWLEDE OF PMI's Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK®).
