Your Opportunity As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will evaluate, select, specify, and design certain electrical power and lighting systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and internal engineering standards / practices. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations and field work. The projects that you may be assigned to will have routine and complex features for the following types of work: renewable energy systems, parks, marinas/boatyards, roadways, transportation facilities, site development projects, and electrical infrastructure design.

Requirements

• Design experience in lighting design, energy code compliance, lighting/power circuiting design, renewable energy, emergency power systems, communications systems, fire alarm systems, intelligent transportation system, construction cost estimating and specification writing.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.
• Thorough knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
• Must have in depth knowledge of general transportation, buildings, community development or power construction.
• Previous experience working with various transportation authorities such as NJTA, NJDOT, NYCDOT, NYSDOT or the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, AGI32, Visual Lighting Software.
• Strong communication skills.
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 8+ years of related industry experience.
• PE license required, NY or NJ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and utility companies to coordinate projects.
• Prepare complete deliverables and documents including calculations, drawings, and specifications with minor supervisor.
• Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
• Handle multiple complex assignments simultaneously.
• Manage or take on the technical lead role for lighting and electrical projects.
