About The Position

Skillforce is currently hiring an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for mission critical projects in the Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA area. This is a full-time, direct hire position with one of the largest general contractors in the US. Will need to be local to Omaha/Council Bluffs area with local travel.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (required).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of construction means and methods.
Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and teams.

Nice To Haves

5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
Develop and review M/E budget estimates based on design and program data.
Analyze systems, recommend cost-effective solutions, and provide value engineering input.
Coordinate M/E scopes of work during preconstruction and the bid process.
Review design documents for quality and constructability; assist in developing quality control procedures.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Oversee commissioning activities, including checklists, functional testing, and documentation.
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and promote best practices in M/E coordination.
Support a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
