Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer to join our team! In this critical role, you will be the go-to expert for hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of mission-critical data center electrical systems. Your work will ensure the reliability and efficiency of cutting-edge facilities that power the future.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance: A must-have for this position.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. (Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Experience: At least 10 years of hands-on experience in data center operations and maintenance, with expertise in infrastructure systems such as HVAC, electrical systems, backup generators, and fire suppression systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of critical electrical systems, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) units, and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar platforms.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and teamwork capabilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop: Create robust electrical systems for data centers, including power distribution, backup power, grounding systems, and more.
  • Perform Analysis: Conduct load calculations, fault analysis, and power quality assessments to optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with mechanical engineers, IT professionals, and facility managers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly with other components.
  • Document: Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations such as NEC, IEEE, and local building codes.
  • Lead Incident Response: Respond to facility-related issues, including power outages, cooling failures, and alarms. Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide On-Call Support: Be available during off-hours to address urgent issues, investigate root causes, and manage recovery efforts.
