This role is categorized as hybrid , with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in designing and developing electric and electronic circuits for communication systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, circuit design, and hardware integration.
  • Experience with commonly used electrical engineering design and analysis tools, including but not limited to: NX ECAD design, Siemens DX Designer and Expedition formerly known as Mentor Graphics, Creo MBSE Schematic, Altium PCB Layout, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, KiCAD, etc.
  • Experience with commonly used test equipment, including but not limited to: Power Supplies, Digital Multi-Meters, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Radio Frequency Power Meters.
  • Experience with signal integrity and timing analysis for creating robust circuit card designs.
  • Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting circuit card assemblies and performing design verification activities.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, including planning, tracking, and man‐aging hardware development tasks in JIRA.
  • FPGA design and testing knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate Collins products within the communication systems and test solutions in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit designs, and analysis.
  • Contribute to the completion of all stages of communication system and test system development.
  • Manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop proven hardware designs that meet system performance and operational specifications.
  • Lead and perform circuit card design lifecycle activities, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, circuit design analysis like Performance, Stability, ESD/Lightning, Decoupling and Signal/Power Integrity analysis, creation of board stack-up and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, root cause analysis, and integration.
