About The Position

At Collins Aerospace, our Multi-Domain Assured Navigation & Timing Applications (MANTA) Hardware Engineering organization is a growing business area in need of a qualified electrical engineer to support development and factory build of state-of-the-art navigation products for the Government marketplace. The ideal candidate shall have a well-rounded background; one that has demonstrated experience or training in multiple aspects of electrical engineering such as RF, digital, FPGA, and analog design. This is an individual contributor role in which the engineer is part of a cohesive team of engineers responsible for developing key subsystems for the PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) product lines.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met.
  • Troubleshoot electrical devices problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Resolve day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.
  • Participate in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Complete drawing designs as required to facilitate the engineering process.
  • Confer with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products.
  • Analyze and evaluates new or improved electronic components.
  • Participate in design and requirements reviews as the hardware subject matter expert.
