We are valued and well regarded by schools and services. Ofsted recognised our EPS as an area of strength in Newham. We are looking for applicants with enthusiasm, drive and commitment to promote the wellbeing of all children and young people. We offer a range of work streams through traded services to settings that include mainstream and special schools, colleges, child development service, universities as well as statutory work. EPs develop a diverse portfolio around early intervention strategies, therapeutic techniques, psychological assessment, systemic consultation. Our EPs contribute to team developments such as emotion coaching, ELSA training and supervision, reflective supervision and strategic areas such as EBSA, trauma informed practice and critical incident support. Examples of our community commissioned initiatives that may interest you include: Thriving Communities –This multi-agency project aims to support inclusion by improving attendance, reducing exclusions and enhancing mental health and well being in young people affected by violence outside their homes. Youth Empowerment Service – are partnering with UEL and the EPS to enhance their youth work practice with an emphasis on systemic work and group supervision CHAND – our service for Children with Autism in Newham – where ‘Every child deserves to shine’; the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to form a unique picture of the child’s abilities and support needs Video Interaction Guidance – we are using VIG to engage with families with children aged 0-5 to improve interactions and relationships, to ensure the Best Start in Life, within a multi-disciplinary context. Newham EPS is looking for an experienced and motivated EP to contribute to our leadership team and to provide management support to help the service develop and play a wider role in supporting strategic developments throughout the borough. We welcome applications from candidates who are keen to take a lead on service developments and project work, as well as contributing towards strategic priorities of Newham. We welcome applications from experienced, newly qualified and EPs in training, full and part time availability considered (at least 0.6 fte). Applicants must be professionally qualified and be registered with the HCPC or in year 2 or 3 of a recognised training course and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check. We particularly welcome applications from members of minoritised communities as we continue to build an EPS team that can reflect the diversity of the population we are working with. If appointed you will deliver evidence-based, high quality psychological services to children, young people and families. You will share our commitment to integrated working, delivering targeted interventions to the highest standards.
