About The Position
Senior Educational Planner – K‑12 Focus Are you an experienced K–12 educational or facilities planning leader who thrives on helping school districts make smart, future‑focused decisions about their campuses? At TETER, you will play a pivotal role in guiding Central California districts through their most important long‑range facilities planning challenges-ensuring every student learns in an environment that supports achievement, equity, and community pride. As part of our mission of Building a Better Valley, you will collaborate alongside architects, engineers, and construction administrators to develop actionable, district‑wide strategies aligned with educational vision, enrollment trends, funding pathways, and long-term capital priorities. The Opportunity: Lead K–12 Facilities Strategy Across the Valley In this senior-level role, your primary focus will be K–12 facilities master planning and capital program development-serving as a trusted advisor to Superintendents, executive teams, and governing boards. You will help districts understand their options, prioritize needs, and confidently plan for modernization, growth, and long‑term investment. You will lead or support key K–12 planning tasks such as: Districtwide Facilities Master Plans Enrollment projections and capacity analysis Facility assessments and modernization strategy Capital program development, sequencing, and phasing Funding strategy alignment, including state programs and local bond planning Clear, visually communicative presentations to boards and community groups This is an opportunity to influence real, community‑wide impact-shaping the future of schools across Central California. Guide modernization vs. replacement decisions, long-range growth plans, program sequencing, and funding strategies. Support business development by contributing to proposals, interviews, and thought leadership that continue to strengthen TETER's educational planning practice. Mentor emerging planners and contribute to a high-performing, integrated team environment. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in K–12 educational planning, facilities planning, architecture, or related educational consulting.
- Proven experience with California public school facilities, including familiarity with CDE/DSA processes, funding programs, and governance landscapes.
- Strong leadership in facility master planning, programming, and capital planning.
- Experience presenting to and working directly with Superintendents, CBOs, and school boards.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and consensus‑building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Nice To Haves
- Professional licensure (e.g., Architect) is a plus but not required.
