About The Position

As our Sr. eCommerce Specialist – Digital Shelf and Site Merchandising, you will play a critical role in building the future of Freshpet by developing, syndicating, and innovating content and digital shelf optimization across all digital channels to build and maintain a best-in-class online presence for our brand. You’ll work cross-functionally to elevate Freshpet’s visibility in a rapidly evolving omnichannel landscape.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in eCommerce, digital shelf, product content, or online merchandising.
  • CPG or omni-channel retail background preferred.
  • Skilled in platforms like Salsify, Syndigo, Profitero, or similar.
  • Fluent in Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and performance reporting.
  • Detail-oriented with high ownership mindset.
  • Determined to improve the shopper’s experience through informative and inspiring content, not just compliance.
  • A passion for mission-driven brands and making the world a better place thru pets, people, and planet.

Responsibilities

  • Digital Shelf Health: Lead the end-to-end PDP experience (images, copy, bullets, enhanced content, SEO metadata, videos, and brand storytelling) for Freshpet across all retailer platforms and drive the analytics (share of search, on shelf availability, etc.) to inform decisions and influence actions internally.
  • Findability & Search Rank: Optimize our product visibility within internal retailer search engines (e.g. Walmart, Kroger, etc) and track priority keywords. Lead our efforts to ensure visibility on external search engines and agentic AI companions.
  • Content Development: Work closely with leaders across Brand, Sales, and Creative to inform and build content (baseline brand storytelling, regular refreshes for key seasonal moments) that is deployed and implemented across retailer platforms.
  • Content Syndication: Own the syndication of updated content via tools like Syndigo and Salsify. Work with retail partners to ensure accurate mapping.
  • Ratings & Reviews: Partner with vendors (e.g. Bazaarvoice) and internal teams to drive growth and quality of consumer feedback on PDPs, including ownership of review campaigns for new and existing items.
  • Taxonomy & Categorization: Ensure our products are indexed and categorized correctly to appear in all relevant browsing experiences.
  • Content Analytics: Track and report on Content Health Score, Findability, PDP conversion, and other digital shelf performance KPIs.
  • Retail Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and retailer contacts to unlock enhanced brand pages, search performance improvements, and A/B testing opportunities.
  • Innovation Mindset: Stay ahead of emerging technologies that shape the digital shelf and the digital path to purchase (i.e. generative AI models driving add-to-cart for Freshpet) and recommend pilot opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Enablement: Act as the connective tissue between eCommerce, Brand, Creative, Retail Media, and Sales.
