About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior E-commerce Manager to lead the ongoing development, optimization, and technical management of our WooCommerce website, with clear ownership of platform performance, execution feasibility, and customer-facing accuracy. This role blends technical skill with strategic ownership, managing site performance, feature development, and user experience from end to end. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with an analytical mindset. They understand how to use data, testing, and user feedback to shape features that enhance site performance, strengthen customer engagement, and improve conversion rates.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex or ambiguous challenges.
  • Able to clearly articulate complex ideas, strategies, and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • 5+ years managing WordPress/WooCommerce sites.
  • Preferably experienced in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or PHP.
  • Familiar with WordPress and WooCommerce database structures, including how product, order, and customer data are stored.
  • Familiar with hosting and performance management on WP Engine or similar platforms.
  • Proficient with Elementor and experienced in optimizing site speed and layout performance using similar page builders.
  • Experience with site optimization, SEO, GEO, analytics, and A/B testing.
  • Comfortable using tools such as Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Search Console, and Semrush.
  • Proven track record of improving eCommerce conversion rates and increasing average order value (AOV) through testing, optimization, and site enhancements.
  • Able to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong awareness of web accessibility (ADA/WCAG), mobile optimization, and page performance best practices.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident working cross-functionally and directing remote developers.

Responsibilities

  • Own site-level execution decisions, including technical feasibility, release sequencing, and platform risk management.
  • Serve as the accountable owner for customer-facing accuracy related to site performance, checkout behavior, and inventory representation.
  • Manage site performance across uptime, speed, security, and user experience.
  • Ensure updates, plugins, and integrations remain compatible and reliable.
  • Maintain accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG) and design consistency.
  • Perform initial technical troubleshooting, identify root causes, and coordinate fixes with developers, escalating risks or required exceptions when issues impact performance, stability, or business outcomes.
  • Plan and manage new web features from concept through launch.
  • Maintain products, order workflows, content updates, and promotions.
  • Run and evaluate A/B tests to improve conversion and checkout flow.
  • Own web performance reporting and dashboards, translating analytics, SEO, and user behavior into actionable insights and optimization recommendations.
  • Ensure customer-facing inventory availability and messaging accurately reflect system data, constraints, and approved promotional plans.
  • Proactively alert stakeholders when changing conditions materially impact site availability or planned promotions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to inform prioritization and delivery planning.
