About The Position

Responsible for maximizing net revenue of Goodwills e-commerce business activity by involvement in production, online sales of product, and containing/monitoring expenses. Provide quality service to external and internal customers. Supervise the e-commerce team to ensure the smooth function of day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience (preferably at least 1 year)
  • Online selling experience (preferably at least 2 years)
  • Ability to communicate in spoken conversation, adequate volume speech, and have normal hearing for conversation, telephone use and emergency information systems.
  • Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations, to move safely about the work area.
  • Visual acuity, depth perception and field of vision within normal range.
  • Have the physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day and be able to travel to supervisory meetings.
  • Maximum lifting of 50#, frequently lifting up to 25#.
  • Ability to use digital camera and download images onto a PC.
  • Ability to type descriptions of items
  • Ability to energetically/enthusiastically plan and direct the work of others while dealing with frequent changes and interruptions.
  • Ability to use personal judgment and information to make business decisions and solve problems, and use of standards that can be measured and checked.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of e-commerce personnel.
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted e-commerce net revenue goals by maintaining appropriate expense to revenue ratios.
  • Prepare internal reports of measurements as requested in a timely manner. Reviews and analyzes sales, average transaction amount, departmental allocation, shipping profit, etc. in order to establish standards, detect trends and determine proper course of action.
  • Communicate with accounting to process payments, refunds and shipping expenses.
  • Communicate with stores and donation drive sorters weekly to confirm proper item selection.
  • Reviews applications for vacant positions, conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions.
  • Develop an effective and dedicated e-commerce team by providing strong leadership and appropriate supervision and training.
  • Demonstrates leadership by holding all team members accountable for established best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of e-commerce personnel.
  • Provides comprehensive training and development of job duties, policies and procedures, ethical codes of conduct, corporate compliance, etc. Lead the training of e-commerce staff who are new to the department and of seasoned staff to continue their development. Training development and actual training for other retail staff who support the work of the e-commerce activity will also be necessitated.
  • Evaluates performance and takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Delegates assignments to staff under the direction of Vice President of Retail and Area Manager and keep them informed of changes in policy and trends. Directs, coaches and guides them in their work in order to help them attain individual growth and store goals.
  • Works collaboratively within department to maximize service opportunities and maintain a continuous improvement agenda.
  • Works with supervisor and direct reports to promote revenue enhancing activities and develop and implement strategies resulting in increased revenues.
  • Oversee all merchandise for entry into the e-commerce software by photographing, writing and proofing descriptions, displaying, and posting all items in order to ensure posting production quotas are met/exceeded. Ensures that appropriate quantity of merchandise is listed for online sales.
  • Oversee inventory tracking system of incoming and posted items ensuring all inventory sent from stores are accounted for and secured.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly packaged according to UPS, FedEx & USPS shipping guidelines and is shipped in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the E-store is presenting quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner to all E-shoppers, employees, and program participants. This includes a responsibility to manage e-mail communication from buyers and responding to all customer service-related e-mail within 24 hours.
  • Transfers and pulls inventory.
  • Analyzes monthly production, listing and sales reports to identify weaknesses and develops strategies to correct them.
  • Ensure a clean, safe work environment and job duties are performed in a safe manner. Communicates needs for repairs, fixtures, maintenance, etc.
  • Responsible for securing the work area and reporting known or suspected security/and or theft problems (internal and external).
  • Meet attendance expectations.
  • Is available during nontraditional hours, including weekend and evening periods.
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants. Positively represents department to internal and external audiences.
  • Investigate efficiencies within the ecommerce sales channels to ensure consistent growth within department.
  • Constantly seek out new best practices to continually improve e-commerce potential.
  • Assist with preparing the annual budget for the e-commerce business line. Examines and analyzes expenses, production and sales to achieve maximum E:R based on strategic goals and operating plans. Makes recommendations to increase efficiency, increase revenue and lower expense.
