The Senior Drafting Lead is a senior technical role responsible for leading complex drafting projects and supporting department-wide improvements in quality, efficiency, and innovation. This role serves as a subject matter expert, represents drafting in cross-functional initiatives, and helps advance drafting tools, standards, and processes.

Requirements

9-11 years of drafting experience, preferably in metal building or structural steel environments.
Mastery of CAD, MBS, Tekla, and emerging detailing technologies.
Strong project management skills.
Demonstrated leadership capability within technical teams.
Proven ability to resolve complex detailing issues.
Ability to implement tools or processes that improve efficiency.
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead drafting for complex projects, including MBMA Class 9 and 10 structures.
Resolve advanced detailing challenges, including hybrid structures.
Lead department-wide improvements in drafting quality and efficiency.
Introduce and implement new drafting tools, including BIM integration and automation.
Represent the drafting department in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Lead drafting efforts for cross-departmental initiatives.
Provide technical guidance and support to other drafters as needed.
Ensure drafting deliverables meet company standards and project requirements.
