About The Position

This position is contingent upon successful contract award. The Senior Doctrine Analyst leads efforts to codify military best practices into official doctrine. Oversees long-range studies, coordinates across high-level staffs, and translates operational "warfighting" experience into technical standards guiding future joint and multinational operations. Travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in at least four of the following areas:
  • Joint Doctrine Analysis: Minimum of 2 years doctrine analysis experience.
  • Institutional Expertise: A minimum of 2 years doctrine analysis experience. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of formal Staff Work and the administrative processes of the Joint Staff or Major Commands.
  • Analytical Expertise: Expert knowledge and skill in planning and executing long-range studies and developing technical recommendations for complex organizational problems.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead major studies, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain quality control over the work of others.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated knowledge of project management frameworks to oversee the lifecycle of complex doctrinal products.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Expert-level interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with a specific focus on translating technical data into strategic insights.
  • Clearance Requirements: Possesses and maintain TS/SCI
  • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of operational experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years operational experience
  • No degree with at least 10 years of warfighting/operational experience

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Study Leadership: Plan, conduct, and coordinate major, long-range studies of comprehensive and complex issues that impact the Joint Force.
  • Technical Analysis & Recommendation: Develop high-level technical analyses and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership regarding doctrinal gaps and operational requirements.
  • Team Oversight & Delegation: Lead multi-disciplinary teams in major studies. You are responsible for delegating work to subordinate analysts and evaluating the quality and accuracy of their results.
  • Staff Coordination: Navigate and master complex "Staff Work," ensuring that all doctrinal products are properly vetted, synchronized, and staffed through the appropriate CCMD, Service, and Agency channels.
  • Project Management: Apply project management principles to track multiple concurrent doctrinal revisions, ensuring all milestones are met within the specified Joint Publication (JP) revision cycles.
  • Strategic Communication: Utilize expert-level interpersonal skills to brief senior officials and communicate highly technical or abstract concepts to diverse audiences across the Department of Defense.
