Job Description: Job Family Definition: Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Management Level Definition: Unique and pivotal contributions have major, lasting technical impact across business units or product lines, or on industry disruptive products/technologies. Recognized authority internally and externally with a track record of creating and delivering impactful leading-edge technologies, theories, or techniques. Applies financial insights to weigh implications of technical choices or investments. Mentors others and role models leadership within the HPE technical community, and engages with the external community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PHD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically 15+ years’ experience.
  • Industry expert regarding development of software systems design tools and languages, with a history of influencing or developing industry standards external to HPE.
  • History of standards development within the Internet Engineering Task Force
  • History of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software systems design.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; conceptualize and drive end to end groundbreaking solutions.
  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems.
  • Guiding design and integration of software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture, including identifying risks and mitigations
  • Excellent written, influencing, and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language, with an excellent ability to communicate nuanced concepts and influence in written and oral communication with a broad vocabulary.
  • Ability to effectively influence product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options at the most senior organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Driving and Influencing strategy and technology roadmaps for software system design and development across multiple platforms and products across business units that impact strategic business objectives for the company at large.
  • Influences executive staff on strategy and technology, industry partners and customers.
  • Leverages recognized technical and business expertise to influence, guide, and shape business strategy and decision- making at the highest organizational levels.
  • Provides strategic consultation, design input, and solutions for application development and design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures.
  • Brings creativity, industry trends/standards, and new innovations to the organization to influence business impact.
  • Guides and mentors less experienced team members to set an example of technical leadership & influence regarding innovation and excellence.
  • Participates in and provides input on process for selection of future technical leaders; provides guidance on technical career path opportunities.
  • Technical authority, representing HPE through participation internal and external technology forums.
