Position Summary: The Senior Director is responsible for planning, developing, and executing strategies for programmatic growth, quality and safety, process improvement, financial performance and patient experience via the clinical councils that comprise Hartford HealthCare’s Tallwood Urology and Kidney Institute. The Senior Director serves regional lead for the Institute and liaison with business and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Six plus years of experience working in a healthcare organization or system
  • Three plus years of experience focusing on program quality and growth
  • Two plus years of leadership experience
  • Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization
  • Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and engagement skills in working within a large healthcare system
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally
  • The ability to work with diverse groups of physicians (voluntary/full-time, teaching/nonteaching) and appreciate their contributions to the strategic direction of the service line
  • Strong finance background and track record of growing programs and increasing volume

Responsibilities

  • Partners with physician leaders of the clinical councils to co-lead regularly scheduled system wide meetings focused on developing and integrating standards of care, quality and safety, program development and innovation
  • Executes on initiatives developed through the clinical councils ensuring the on-time delivery of identified priorities
  • Represents the Institute at regional leadership team meetings including reporting on key performance indicators
  • Oversees JV business and vendor partnerships aligned with clinical councils
  • Leads clinical care redesign, supply chain and capital planning for the Institute
  • Oversees program and financial data for each clinical council and region as well as partners with Director of Strategy and Business Development to develop and execute on business plans
  • Participates in organizational committees, teams, and projects for Hartford Healthcare as appropriate to promote the quality and growth of the Tallwood Urology and Kidney Institute
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities for collaboration with other departments and medical staff. Defines, reduces and/or eliminates barriers within the system which may negatively impact patient care
