About The Position

The Trade Desk is changing the way global brands and their agencies advertise to audiences around the world. How? With a media buying platform that helps brands deliver a more insightful and relevant ad experience for consumers –– and sets a new standard for global reach, accuracy, and transparency. We are proud of the culture we have built. We value the unique experiences and perspectives that each person brings to The Trade Desk, and we are committed to fostering inclusive spaces where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work every day. So, if you are talented, driven, creative, and eager to join a dynamic, globally-connected team, then we want to talk! WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR As programmatic advertising continues to grow, the health of the deal-based marketplace depends on improving the overall quality of deals, ensuring they are operationally efficient, and laying the groundwork for structured negotiations that unlock the full power of programmatic for buyers and sellers. Deal Desk is the platform that brings structure, clarity, and intelligence to how deals are created, onboarded, and activated. We are looking for a Senior Director of Product to define and drive the next phase of Deal Desk’s evolution, building a system that makes high-quality deals easier to negotiate, easier to manage, and easier to execute at scale. The Trade Desk Product Team hires courageous, collaborative PMs who set ambitious goals and execute against them. We value leaders who thrive in complexity, operate with urgency, and deliver meaningful innovation that extends our leadership in the industry.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of Product Management experience, including significant experience in adtech, deal-based marketplaces, or complex B2B systems
  • Deep understanding of how structured, API-driven systems scale operational workflows
  • Experience improving product quality by reducing ambiguity and operational friction
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to set strategic direction and drive execution across multiple initiatives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with executive-level presence
  • A proven track record of partnering with engineering to deliver technically sophisticated software at scale
  • Durability and grit — meaningful platform evolution requires iteration and disciplined sequencing
  • A collaborative mindset focused on delivering the right outcomes, not just the right ideas.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead the Deal Desk Product Management team and own the strategy and roadmap for one of the platform’s most important systems.
  • You will evolve Deal Desk into a structured, API-driven platform that:
  • Improves the quality and clarity of deals
  • Makes onboarding and ongoing management operationally efficient
  • Provides insights and tools that allow users to focus on performance rather than troubleshooting
  • Enables structured negotiations that scale cleanly within programmatic environments
  • Lay the foundation for future deal types
  • You will partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Commercial teams to ensure deal terms are transparent, measurable, and integrated directly into platform workflows. The platform should not only help buyers and sellers negotiate high-quality deals, but also help them meet the terms of those deals through better pacing, prioritization, and visibility.
  • You will simplify inventory and deal management workflows, reduce fragmentation, and create clearer feedback loops so users can learn from outcomes and continuously improve future deals.
  • In addition, you will develop and mentor a high-performing team of Product Managers, fostering accountability, strategic clarity, and disciplined execution in a fast-paced, technically complex environment.

Benefits

  • reimbursement for certain tuition expenses
  • parental leave
  • sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked
  • vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter
  • around 13 paid holidays per year
