We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Client Executive to join our Client Engagement Strategies on our Public Sector team leading Federal, State & Local, GSE and MDB clients in the US. This role is located in Washington, DC. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of total work experience preferred, ideally in Financial Services working on the Public Sector with prior client-facing roles such as Sales Support, Global Capital Markets, or Product Management.
  • Deep knowledge of industry and solutions with the ability to ideate bundled, cross-product offerings; strong understanding of the relevant marketplace, competitive landscape, and industry drivers in the region; bilingual capabilities and cultural fluency are advantageous.
  • Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
  • People leadership: No direct reports immediately; provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced Client Coverage leads and may lead cross-functional efforts coordinating coverage of country, enterprise, or major accounts while holding internal partners accountable for delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the client coverage strategy to meet sales targets for assigned businesses, optimizing relationship management and directing functional teams to meet key objectives.
  • Set standards for deal structuring and negotiations; review and approve terms to align with client needs, BNY’s commercial objectives, and risk appetite.
  • Ensure compliance across deals and enable teams with firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, operations, client service) to deliver appropriate responses and seamless execution.
  • Define, track, and report key metrics for client coverage and sales performance; establish a client feedback loop to inform continuous improvement and strategic product development.
  • Drive organic, incremental growth (revenue and assets) across the portfolio, manage account profitability and retention, and maintain high client satisfaction; hold a limited set of strategic accounts when appropriate.
  • Contribute to the Public Sector strategic plan to grow complex, large relationships and prospects, focusing on deepening existing clients and developing new business.
  • Serve as a consultative advisor to senior stakeholders (including C‑suite), acting as the highest point of escalation and ensuring accountability for the end‑to-end client experience.
  • Proactively source and develop leads; structure pricing and contract terms; share insights on emerging markets and cross‑product opportunities to advance commercial outcomes.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle with disciplined account planning and sales hygiene, maintaining accurate data in eCRM/reporting platforms and coordinating closely with cross‑functional partners.
