About The Position

Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with more than 120 million people using our products every day. The Viewer Experience organization owns how people discover, choose, and enjoy content on Roku—from the iconic Home Screen and navigation, to Live TV and Sports, to The Roku Channel and our mobile apps. We're looking for a Senior Director of Product Management to lead the teams responsible for Roku's core viewer experiences. Reporting to the VP of Product Management & UX, this leader will own the strategy and execution for our Home Screen, key content destinations, and mobile/companion experiences. You'll operate at the center of Roku's most important decisions: balancing what viewers want, what our partners need, and what's best for the long-term business. You'll work closely with teams across AI personalization, subscriptions, advertising, design, and engineering to define what's next for streaming on Roku. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role with the opportunity for outsized impact.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of product management experience, including 8+ years leading product teams in high-scale consumer tech or platform environments.
  • A track record of delivering large-scale consumer experiences across multiple surfaces (TV, mobile, or web).
  • Deep understanding of user behavior, content discovery, and information architecture in complex ecosystems.
  • Experience working with AI/ML or data science teams on recommendations, ranking, search, or other personalized experiences.
  • Strong product instincts with the ability to simplify complexity, make tradeoffs, and drive alignment.
  • Technical fluency and a history of building strong partnerships with engineering leaders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior executives.
  • Experience influencing and aligning large cross-functional organizations toward a shared vision.
  • A passion for building products that viewers love and that create long-term business value.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the long-term strategy for Roku's viewer experience across the Home Screen, OS navigation, Live TV and Sports discovery, The Roku Channel surfaces, and mobile apps.
  • Set clear priorities that balance viewer needs, partner requirements, and business outcomes.
  • Champion a user-first approach that guides design, engineering, and business teams toward simple, high-quality experiences.
  • Establish decision frameworks that clarify trade-offs (e.g., advertising vs. subscriptions vs. simplicity) and ensure decisions stick across the organization.
  • Lead and mentor a team of senior PMs and directors across multiple surfaces and geographies.
  • Partner deeply with engineering, UX, data science, AI personalization, Ads, and Subscriptions to deliver cohesive, platform-level solutions.
  • Serve as a primary product decision-maker on complex tradeoffs spanning revenue, engagement, personalization, and usability.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and represent the viewer's voice in key forums.
  • Drive major product releases across Roku OS surfaces and mobile apps, from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Ensure product goals are grounded in data, experimentation, and real consumer insights.
  • Build and maintain a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and high-velocity iteration within your teams.
  • Integrate AI- and ML-driven personalization in ways that materially improve viewer discovery, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Partner with Roku's AI and data science teams to define how recommendations, ranking, and browsing should work across Roku's surfaces.
  • Ensure our use of AI is understandable, trustworthy, and aligned with Roku's brand and viewer expectations.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class product management team.
  • Set high standards for product thinking, communication, user-centricity, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Foster a culture of clarity, curiosity, and strong product judgment.
  • Communicate strategy, priorities, and results to senior executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Provide crisp, unambiguous direction that accelerates progress and reduces churn.
  • Represent the Viewer Experience organization in executive reviews and other high-visibility forums.
