ABOUT ROLE: The Senior Director, Procurement - Global Indirect will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and enable execution around our global Indirect spend. Our global Materials Group comprises Label and Packaging Materials, Graphics Solutions, Reflective Solutions, and Performance Tapes businesses and this role will seamlessly be tying your efforts across those respective businesses. Reporting directly to the Group Vice President, Global Procurement, this leader will build an organization that will enable execution of the strategy built by this leader. This role will be a key member of the Global Materials Procurement Leadership Team (GMPLT). The successful candidate will take along partner functions and people and will lead across highly complex global programs to achieve desired outcomes that truly position procurement as a value creator vs. just being a cost cutter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 15+ years of strategic sourcing,indirect and direct category management experience
  • Experience with generating Demand Savings and Supply Savings with equal finesse.
  • International Experience of leading global and regional teams.
  • The role will require regular global travel.
  • Proven ability to operate with a Global Mindset.
  • Exceptional Collaboration Skills with internal as well as external partners.
  • Ability to compile, research, analyze information & to compose and present comprehensive reports.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-regional projects or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, support and conduct multi-layered, complex projects & negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Director of Global Indirect Procurement will play a pivotal role in developing and executing procurement strategies to optimize costs, streamline processes, and ensure the timely and efficient sourcing of goods and services across our global operations.
  • This individual will lead a team of procurement professionals, establish strong supplier relationships, and implement best practices to support the company's objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • This leader will help us imbibe a “spend smarter” mindset across the organization. From policy enhancements to process compliance and from cross functional partnerships to facilitation of dialogue where spending habits within the enterprise are discussed and worked upon.
  • Champion the value of procurement across the organization to reduce "maverick spend" and increase spend-under-management.
  • Imbibe the Buy Better mindset which will enable strategic sourcing process implementation when it comes to understanding the need, assessing the market supply availability, driving the selection process and furnishing contracts that will clearly tie out payment for performance that is defined through clear and measurable service level agreements.
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing global indirect procurement team of 15 members that currently operates regionally while improving engagement and creating career path opportunities for our talent.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, ensuring procurement strategies support their specific departmental objectives.
  • Provide category management leadership and oversight to ~$650M indirect portfolio underneath the Material Group. This role holds significant potential to shape enterprise-wide procurement strategies, leveraging internal synergies for scale advantages across the enterprise.
  • Evaluate the structural necessities on global/central categories drive an united effort with a bigger scale and enhanced results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with "top-tier" global vendors, conducting Executive Business Reviews (EBRs) to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and negotiate strategic contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Partner with suppliers to bring "outside-in" innovation to the business, improving internal service levels and operational speed.
  • In partnership with the Procurement Operational Excellence team and GMPLT, Implement robust procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency, visibility, and compliance.
  • Oversee risk management and compliance within the procurement function, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in procurement, driving continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Monitor market trends and industry dynamics to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the procurement function.
  • Collaborate with procurement Finance and budget owners on creation of annual operating plan and monthly forecasting.
  • Oversee performance of Indirect KPIs including but not limited to: hard+soft savings, payment term improvement, accelerated sourcing project targets (e.g. tail, freight), suppliers in Ecovadis, catalog usage and e-RFx.
