About The Position

In coordination with the Prevention and Community Services Administrator, the Senior Director of Prevention & Community Services leads, guides, and directs a robust continuum of prevention and early intervention activities to prevent at risk children and families from entering the formal child welfare system. This position engages in strategic planning and expansion of the continuum of care service delivery in Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties using strength-based planning, evidenced based practices, behavioral and clinical services to achieve family stabilization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant degree
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior management role
  • Experience in program management and evaluation
  • A minimum of 5 years developing and delivering presentations for various audiences
  • Effective leadership, management, and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Word and Excel
  • Ability to analyze, integrate and report data
  • Ability to interact with and maintain high morale among employees
  • Thorough knowledge of the operations aspects of child welfare
  • Aptitude for reviewing data sets and understanding how variables influence data outcomes
  • Comprehensive understanding of the area’s system of care, Florida Administrative Code, Florida Statutes, DJJ operations and processes
  • Demonstrate cultural and linguistic competence & sensitivity to population served
  • Ability to travel
  • Thorough Background Screening upon hire including FBI, FDLE, Local Law check, Employment Reference check, DMV check, Criminal Records check, Social Security Trace & Drug Screening. FDLE check will be run at least every 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises prevention managers (currently known as the Diversion Managers) in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties and Department of Juvenile Justice Manager in the 4-county area.
  • Serves as a representative of FPOCF with community groups and stakeholders, professional affiliations, vendors, and other organizations that work with the same population.
  • Develop new and nurture existing relationships with providers at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Manage new and existing programs and projects, including the development of fidelity monitoring systems.
  • Work in coordination with the Prevention & Community Services Administrator to develop, support, and maintain consistency in processes and procedures related to prevention programming.
  • Develop and oversee a coordinated, comprehensive response to cases involving confirmed and/or suspected human trafficking victims in the community.
  • Ensure the quality, effectiveness, and compliance of prevention programming and services in coordination with the Prevention & Community Services Administrator.
  • Participates in the agency strategic plan, internal peer reviews, and quality improvement processes.
  • Identifies, monitors, manages, and mitigates potential risks. Evaluates team decision-making, processes, and outcomes to consider areas of improvement in prevention programming and service.
  • Lead professional staff development activities and training to enhance quality and effectiveness of prevention efforts and programming.
  • Ability to safely & successfully perform essential job duties consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Ability to comply with all personnel policies and procedures.
