About The Position

The Senior Director of Player Health & Performance will oversee the health medical and athletic performance department for the Indiana Fever They are responsible for providing professional athletic training and physical therapy care for Fever players and staff ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the medical and athletic performance department for the Indiana Fever including the full time sports performance coach athletic trainers & physical therapists massage therapists nutritionist chiropractor and internsProvide clinical care based on the clinical evidence paradigm to the players including but not limited to initial examination diagnosis evaluation treatment monitoring and prevention of injuriesAssist in the planning and execution of pre season in season post season and off season screening testing and examinationResponsible for identifying individual clinical treatment and rehabilitation strategies goals prognosis and timelines based on the best clinical evidenceSupervise and coordinate with the performance coach regarding the year round strength and fitness needs of the Fever players and allow for greater continuity of care with the sports medicine area and the coaching staffServe as the direct point of contact for all team physicians surgeons nutritionist sports psychologist massage therapists etc and communicate with player agents as neededCoordinate scheduling of sports medicine and basketball related activities during in season and off season workouts practices and games in conjunction with coaching staff including physicals and testingWork closely with the team nutrition manager for daily player nutritionAssist with pre draft and free agent player evaluationsOrder stock and pack medical suppliesMaintain cleanliness of training area evaluation room and basketball courtsLead in the facilitation of the day to day operations of the sports medicine departmentMaintain state licensure and certification as a physical therapist and athletic trainerComply with all WNBA standards and protocolsAdhere to all team and WNBA standards for clinical documentationMaintain WNBA and HIPAA standards for confidentiality regarding all matters pertaining to the players and the organizationMust have the ability to work a flexible schedule that will include nights weekends travel to away games and potentially Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy DPT degree required
