About the Senior Director of Clinical Outcomes Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Clinical and Operational Excellence, the Senior Director of Patient Care Services works in partnership with executive nursing leadership and the patient care services team to align and standardize practices across the enterprise. This role promotes clinical and operational excellence and organizational effectiveness through targeted continuous improvement and innovation, leading initiatives focused on organizational strategic imperatives that lead to improved patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Current license/certification in an allied health specialty required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in the allied health space.
  • Minimum of three (3) years leadership experience within an acute care facility.

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge base of clinical practice that is evidence-based to provide best patient outcomes and supports a healthy clinical work environment.
  • Work cross-functionally to plan and implement high-impact initiatives that drive business value for the organization.
  • Continually challenge the status quo and persistently dig for improvement opportunities and lead/develop team to do the same.
  • Establish a passion for operational excellence, best-practice standardization, and project implementation, with a focus on clinical transformation:
  • Identify and capture business needs/opportunities through communication with stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation with respect to system, process, and standardization.
  • Recognize operational issues/challenges and recommend pragmatic solutions.
  • Effective presentation and interpersonal skills meeting the needs of all levels within the organization up to and including the executive management team.
  • With a strong understanding of, and aptitude for, contingency planning, change management and communication to successfully navigate to desired outcomes with minimal impact to ongoing business objectives.
  • Identify and capture business needs/opportunities through communication with stakeholders.
  • Recognize operational issues/challenges and recommend pragmatic solutions.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with business leaders, then create, coordinate, and execute the detailed plans for implementation and assessing project risks and issues and developing resolutions to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Provide the thoughtful coordination and design of executive discussions to foster well-informed and timely decision-making and alignment to intent.
  • Communicate with broad audiences to maintain forward momentum and generate active leadership engagement.
  • Learn the organizational business landscape, understand business requirements, and gain and maintain a connection to stakeholder expectations.
  • Establish an awareness of the “big picture”, actively build alignment and influence others, and meet problems with creative solutions.
  • Provide the oversight and tracking of critical decisions and next steps necessary to advance the business.
  • Lead internal implementation team project activities.
  • Facilitate from a system level and support from a site level structure improvement work related to clinical practice.
  • Partner with sites to develop clinical pathways that support improved patient outcomes.
  • Understanding of quality initiatives that drive improvement in patient outcomes.
  • Lead improvement work that has a high impact on patient outcomes including patient experience.
  • Support community education and engagement in improvement work focused on patient outcomes.
