The Sr. Director of Operations supports the business internally and, in the field, directing the day-to-day operations of the production facilities the Company operates. The Sr. Director is responsible for operational effectiveness, financial performance, training and managing staff, and allotment of resources to complete projects. This role provides senior leadership, direction & decision-making for all production operations, accountable to plan, organize, and support the long-term strategic objectives to ensure the delivery of high quality radio-pharmaceuticals and outstanding patient care on behalf of PETNET Solutions, a multi-national, wholly-owned subsidiary of Siemens Molecular Imaging. PETNET is the worldwide leader in the manufacturing and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals for positron emission tomography. This role is expected to build strong collaborative relationships with other key leaders in the organization, ensuring that Production Operations is positioned to optimize performance in terms of quality, service and consistency of radio-pharmaceutical production. Emphasis is placed on site performance, financial monitoring, operational excellence, productivity, compliance and an overall culture of organizational efficiency (LEAN). The position will report to the Vice President of US Operations.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering, chemistry, pharmacy, or related sciences required; Masters or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership-level experience and documented record of success in management of multi-disciplinary and multi-site manufacturing operations and services, required. Pharmacy and/or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and radiation/hazardous material handling.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in customer relationship management
  • Experience in personnel management and leadership expertise
  • Experience in a production or cGMP manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with FDA audit programs preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills,
  • Ability to work independently and interpret information, including financial & technical information
  • Technically skilled with proven ability to troubleshoot problems, solve abstract issues, interpret and implement policies & procedures
  • Ability to communicate and promote common vision and develop high performance team culture
  • Proven leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the US network of PETNET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution centers and manage the daily business operations including customer service and relationships, product pricing, internal and external regulatory authorities, financial budgeting and performance and personnel recruiting and management.
  • Implement short and long-term business strategies in support of PETNET’s Mission, Vision and Strategy.
  • Facilitate business expansion efforts including site build out, staffing, equipment purchases and install, licensure and training.
  • Assure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards including cGMP, radiation safety, pharmacy laws, DOT, EHS, and internal policies and interpretations of the above.
  • Implement cost control and operational efficiency strategies that lower the COGS across the regional network.
  • Drive productivity through implementation of new technology, products and processes into daily operations.
  • Evaluate business plans of new endeavors and new initiatives to improve the overall operation and performance of the region.
  • Work cross functionally with sales, service and other supporting function to successfully implement strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and advance key strategic relationships including customers, vendors, host institutions, Siemens partners, etc.
  • Develop leaders within the Regional Director team to ensure continuous improvement and leadership development in the operations organization
  • Key senior leadership position that must work cross functionally within organization to drive overall business results
  • Interface with external and internal customers and suppliers to drive continual process and service improvements
  • Interface with cross functional internal/external teams, field operations, and drug sponsors to drive alignment of key goals and metrics for decentralized operational activities
