About The Position

The Senior Director of Multi-Tiered Support Systems (MTSS) is a senior leader on the Academic Team responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving a coherent, network-wide MTSS framework that ensures every student receives timely, data-driven academic, social emotional, and behavioral support. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Academic Officer and working closely with the Chief Academic Officer, this leader drives alignment across curriculum, instruction, intervention, assessment, and special education systems to strengthen Tier 1 instruction, accelerate intervention effectiveness, and improve equitable student outcomes. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on coaching, professional development, team management, and data-informed decision-making to build leadership capacity and drive equitable student outcomes. The Senior Director partners closely with school leaders, Regional Schools Officers (RSOs), and cross-functional departments to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation of MTSS across all campuses

Requirements

  • Proven ability in implementation and planning; can take complex problems and break them down to implementable steps.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority projects or responsibilities effectively
  • Demonstrates strong organizational habits, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality outcomes
  • Navigates obstacles and changing conditions with a solutions-oriented mindset and persistence
  • Comfortable adapting to evolving organizational needs and priorities.
  • Highly effective presenter and communicator
  • Builds trust and credibility across roles and teams, and leads through influence rather than authority
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and apply instructional data to inform practice and strategy
  • Deep commitment to educational equity and alignment with Mastery’s mission and values
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional education and experience in curricula and assessment, instruction, school programming, adult learning and development and school leadership
  • Familiarity with approaches for adult learning, coaching, and professional development
  • Demonstrated success supporting student achievement in historically under-resourced or equity-focused school communities
  • Familiarity with Common Core Standards, New Jersey Student Learning Standards, ISTE standards.
  • Familiarity with common national education programs and products
  • A proven track record of achieving measurable results
  • Experience leading high-performing teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as outlined above, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as traveling to network campuses, monitoring and interacting with students, in-person facilitation of trainings, etc.;
  • This role may require frequent travel between multiple locations. Reliable transportation is essential to fulfill job responsibilities
