About The Position

The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications plays a critical role in National Medical Fellowships’ efforts to reduce barriers to medical education and invest in the healthcare leaders of tomorrow to ensure better health outcomes for all communities. This position, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, will develop and lead a marketing and communications strategy that: Strengthens NMF’s brand identity and broadens awareness of and increases the visibility of its programs, scholarships and event. Shares and builds upon the excellence, success, and sense of community of NMF’s scholars and alumni. Advances NMF’s mission, vision and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience. Experience in nonprofit, healthcare or higher education organizations is preferred.
  • Proven success working effectively and collaboratively in a fast -paced environment with multiple teams, outside vendors, and deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to successfully identify short - and long -range goals, prioritize across various projects, and track and report on measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating and developing communications across a variety of marketing channels.
  • Experience in marketing and communications related to registration, enrollment or memberships preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms required. Background with Raiser’s Edge or other Blackbaud products helpful.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, strategic planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to innovate in order to meet the changing needs of NMF and its scholars and alumni.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead marketing and communications department to elevate brand awareness, advance strategic goals, engage constituencies, amplify community stories, and support CEO and Board thought leadership.
  • Oversee department operations including budgeting, staff management, and strategic planning.
  • Direct development of print and digital products: website, newsletter, annual reports, social media, and fundraising materials.
  • Use data -informed strategies to grow event registrations, program enrollments, and scholarship applications.
  • Collaborate with Development on fundraising campaigns including Giving Tuesday and year -end appeals.
  • Support CEO and Board for speaking engagements and media interviews with talking points and briefing materials.
  • Communicate and collaborate with senior leadership, Board, staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Create KPIs to ensure communication channels advance NMF's mission, brand awareness, and audience engagement.
  • Develop RFPs and manage marketing vendors.
  • Ensure brand alignment across departments.
