About The Position

The Senior Director of Finance plays a critical leadership role in advancing the firm’s financial strategy, supporting partner success, and enabling sustainable growth across a national professional services organization. This role leads complex financial modeling, partner equity planning, acquisition diligence, and operational optimization initiatives that directly impact the firm’s long-term performance. Working closely with executive leadership and partners, the Senior Director will provide strategic financial insights, drive data-informed decision-making, and develop scalable financial frameworks that support the firm’s evolving ownership structure and growth strategy. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, brings deep financial expertise, and has a strong track record of building modern financial systems, processes, and analytical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 + years’ progressive experience in finance, project management, or implementation leadership
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise financial systems including Workday Financial Management, Salesforce, or similar platforms
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling and strategic analysis, business case development and ROI analysis, equity planning and capital transactions, procurement strategy and cost optimization, and partner lifecycle and ownership planning

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Finance & Partner Equity Lead the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of complex financial models supporting partner equity valuation, ownership structures, and capital planning
  • Manage the annual partner buy-in process, including valuation updates, model enhancements, stakeholder coordination, and clear communication to partner candidates and existing partners
  • Provide strategic analysis and reporting on partner performance, capital contributions, compensation alignment, and long-term ownership strategy
  • Deliver insights to firm leadership to support equity planning, partnership growth, and financial sustainability
  • M&A Diligence & Integration Lead financial diligence on potential acquisitions, including quality of earnings, financial risk assessment, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Support integration activities, evaluate expected versus actual performance, and recommend improvements to strengthen financial outcomes and operational alignment.
  • Procurement Optimization & Operational Efficiency Lead financial diligence for potential acquisitions, including quality of earnings analysis, financial risk assessments, and valuation considerations
  • Evaluate financial alignment with firm strategy and identify opportunities to strengthen value creation
  • Support post-acquisition integration activities, including performance tracking, financial reporting alignment, and synergy realization
  • Monitor expected versus actual acquisition outcomes and recommend operational or financial improvements
  • Partner Lifecycle & Leadership Development Support Support management of the partner lifecycle, including pipeline development, onboarding, transitions, and retirement planning
  • Contribute to succession planning and leadership readiness initiatives across the partnership
  • Provide forecasting and analysis related to partner performance, leadership capacity, and long-term growth planning
  • Technology, Systems, & Implementation Leadership Oversee finance readiness and implementation support for Workday Financial Management and Workday Professional Services Automation, partnering with Finance, HR, and IT to ensure effective deployment and adoption
  • Support integration of Salesforce and Aiwyn to enhance billing operations, financial workflows, and data quality
  • Champion adoption of modern financial tools that increase automation, reporting capability, and operational scalability
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on financial systems modernization and process improvement
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Project Leadership Coordinate finance-related initiatives across departments to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective execution
  • Lead complex projects from concept through implementation, utilizing strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to leadership teams across the firm
  • Will lead and supervise subordinate team members
