About The Position

The Senior Director of Compensation Consulting, Corporate Functions leads high impact consulting for Truist’s Corporate Functions, shaping how the organization attracts, rewards, and retains talent. This role partners closely with senior leaders and executives to translate business priorities into competitive, equitable, and compliant compensation programs, while driving large, complex initiatives with enterprise wide impact. Serving as a trusted advisor, this role provides direct compensation leadership for Truist Corporate Functions, including Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Audit, Risk, Technology, Data and Operations, and the Office of Corporate and Administrative Affairs. The role directly manages and develops a team of compensation professionals and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes through strong governance, clear executive communication, and disciplined execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in compensation with progressive management responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of compensation program design and management.
  • Experience leading projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced graduate degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the execution of comprehensive compensation strategies established by Senior Management and Executives.
  • Manages complex compensation programs covering base pay, short-term and long-term incentives, allowances, deferred compensation, and sales compensation, as well as non-cash rewards and recognition programs.
  • Leads job analysis, evaluation, classification, benchmarking, and market survey participation to maintain competitive and equitable compensation.
  • Provides strategic guidance on compensation to Senior Management and Executives.
  • Collaborates with external consultants and vendors to design and enhance compensation programs and policies.
  • Oversees communications regarding compensation program features, plans, and options to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and financial reporting related to compensation.
  • Manages and develops a team of compensation professionals.
  • Leads large, complex compensation projects and initiatives with significant organizational impact.
  • Establishes operational plans and goals for the compensation function with short- to mid-term (e.g., 0-3 years) impact on results.
