About The Position

We are hiring a Senior Director of Business Office to oversee the Pennsylvania Business Office Group at Belmont Behavioral Health System in Philadelphia, PA. Work Location: Onsite — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania This leadership role is headquartered at Belmont Behavioral Health System, the central operational site supporting our mission-driven behavioral health services across Pennsylvania. We are seeking a strategic, experienced Senior Director of Business Office to lead the Pennsylvania Business Office Group. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, optimizing business operations, and ensuring excellence across all business office functions. The ideal candidate brings: 5+ years of strong leadership experience in hospital or behavioral health business operations Demonstrated expertise in Revenue Cycle Management, financial oversight, and process improvement A mission‑aligned leadership style and a strong commitment to operational integrity and quality Purpose of the Role Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and supervise all Business Office activities — including financial counseling, billing, and collections — across all service lines within the Pennsylvania Business Office Group.

Requirements

  • High s chool d iploma or equivalent required .
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred .
  • Five or more years ’ job-related experience . P referably in behavioral health .
  • Three or more y ears ’ supervisory experience .
  • Strong r evenue c ycle technical skills .
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile, where facility requires

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled, denials, daily census, etc. in conjunction with the CFO.
  • Establish and maintain controls for all cash collected and posted in patient accounting system.
  • Maintain effective communication with third party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impede cash flow and detract from patient/member satisfaction.
  • Provide staff management to includ e hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Maintain effective communication with the leadership team to ensure that all third-party compliance guidelines are met.
  • Select and monitor outside collection vendors engaged in the collection of facility receivables.
  • Review and balance agency reports to system reports and approve agency invoices.
  • Lead and provide operational directives for all Business office activities related to the claim’s management and collections of the facility receivables and ensure timely, efficient cash collections to support the overall financial goals of the facility.
  • Define and provide the necessary support and leadership to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Review all statistical reports to monitor trends and determine operational deficiencies and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Work closely with Utilization Review and Admissions staff to ensure proper authorization of patient insurance coverage.
  • Manage and direct subordinate staff to identify goals and objectives
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
