About The Position

As the Senior Director of Business Development, you are part of Best People. You are responsible for leading MacLellan’s growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and expanding our presence across industries and geographies. You serve as a trusted partner to prospective and existing clients, ensuring alignment between customer needs and MacLellan’s capabilities. Utilizing our Best Systems, you lead the development and execution of business development strategies, oversee pipeline management, and guide proposal and contract development processes. You collaborate closely with operational leaders to ensure seamless transitions from opportunity to execution, maintaining MacLellan’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. You achieve the Best Results by driving sustainable revenue growth, building long-term client partnerships, mentoring business development team members, and ensuring consistent execution of strategic initiatives that support MacLellan’s long-term vision.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales leadership, or strategic growth roles.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business development strategies that drive measurable revenue growth.
  • Experience leading complex proposal development processes and contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required to support customer engagement and business growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Industrial services, manufacturing, or automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Proven success in building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Experience leading and mentoring business development teams preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with MacLellan’s core services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain and manage a robust sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to ensure successful onboarding of new business.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to inform strategy.
  • Represent MacLellan at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop business development team members.
  • Ensure alignment with MacLellan’s values and culture in all business development activities.
