As Senior Director of Nursing Education, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of all educational programs within the Department of Nursing that support and evaluate nursing practice, meet all regulatory requirements, and enhance professional nursing practice standards. In addition, this position is responsible for the Nurse Residency Program across the enterprise. This role participates in hospital-wide committees as designated by the Vice-President of Nursing Operations, Corporate Nursing. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field if already holds a BSN degree. Either a bachelor’s or graduate degree must be in nursing.
  • Minimum of 7 years clinical and/or leadership experience in Nursing/Nursing Education
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with clinical departments regarding education needs.
  • Experience in a matrixed organization working with nursing leadership teams to ensure the competency assessment of staff is in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Current New York State RN license
  • Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
  • NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Nice To Haves

  • American Nurses Credentialing Center approved national board certification
  • Doctoral degree preferred
