About The Position

We are seeking a strategic, analytically driven, and commercially minded leader to shape the future of Kiniksa’s pipeline and long-term growth. The Senior Director, New Product Planning & Insights is a critical role responsible for advancing the development, refinement, and measurement of Kiniksa’s commercial strategy across our emerging portfolio. This leader will operate at the intersection of strategy, insights generation, and cross-functional collaboration—turning disparate data sources into actionable insights that drive confident decision-making and tangible business impact. As a core member of the Commercial Operations leadership team, this individual will serve as the commercial voice on multiple program teams, guiding go-to-market strategy through deep market understanding, robust analytics, and forward-looking insights. This role reports to the GVP, Commercial Operations and partners closely with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Value & Access, Patient Services, Medical, Regulatory, IT, and Program Management. This role is based in our Lexington, MA office. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

Requirements

  • BA or BS required; MS or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis, decision support, market research, and forecasting within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (consulting or in-house).
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing launch strategy through deep understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Advanced expertise in analytics, market research methodologies, and vendor management.
  • Experience building and maintaining complex market assessments and forecast models.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to executive audiences.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%, both domestically and internationally.
  • Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Shape Commercial Strategy: Drive best-in-class commercial planning and insights across pipeline assets by leading primary and secondary market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence, business intelligence, and advanced analytics.
  • Be the Commercial Champion: Represent Commercial on program teams, ensuring customer needs, market realities, and competitive dynamics are embedded in target product profiles, development plans, and lifecycle strategies.
  • Deliver Market-Driven Opportunity Assessments: Lead comprehensive assessments for new indications and business development opportunities, including evaluation of treatment paradigms, unmet needs, competitive landscapes, product positioning, and value propositions—translating insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Lead Through Influence: Serve as a trusted thought partner to brand teams, global stakeholders, and cross-functional leaders, helping frame and answer critical business questions with clarity and confidence.
  • Drive Data Driven Approach: Partner with the HEOR and Insights & Analytics teams to leverage 3rd party data assets, innovative analytics, and advanced modeling to improve insight generation and go-to-market planning.
  • Own Forecast Excellence: Review, refine, and evolve pipeline forecast models to improve accuracy and deepen understanding of long-term value drivers and commercial risk.
  • Think Globally: Act as a thought leader supporting both U.S. and ex-U.S. commercialization efforts, providing forecasting and insights support to global partners.
