Position Summary: The Senior Director, Global Commercial Strategy Oncology – BioNTech/Solid Tumor is accountable for global commercial strategy and decision-making for pumitamig (BNT327; PD-L1×VEGF bispecific). This role serves as the primary commercial voice on development governance and registrational strategy, ensuring alignment with BioNTech colleagues and broader franchise objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong strategic thinking, governance leadership, and deep oncology market expertise.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in business, life sciences, or related field (MBA, PhD, PharmD preferred).
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in oncology commercial strategy, with proven track record in asset-level strategy and governance participation (e.g., GPT leadership).
  • Experience influencing registrational strategy and clinical development decisions.
  • Deep understanding of the oncology market landscape, including solid tumors and immuno-oncology.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of global commercial strategies for pumitamig (BNT327) across select tumors/indications, aligned with portfolio objectives.
  • Serve as core commercial representative on Global Product Team (GPT), influencing clinical development and registrational decisions.
  • Represent commercial on indication/tumor-specific development teams and provide strategic steer on all pumitamig-related decisions.
  • Partner closely with Tumor Leads, Business Development, Medical, Market Access, and other stakeholders to drive integrated franchise plans.
  • Work closely with BioNTech colleagues to ensure seamless and aligned work plans.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Drive launch readiness and lifecycle management for pumitamig, including scenario planning and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Strategy & Operations, Market Foresight, and Project Management teams to ensure operational excellence.
  • Evaluate new registrational study opportunities and contribute to business development activities.
  • Prepare and present business cases, strategic recommendations, and performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Mentor and develop talent within the franchise, supporting succession planning and team capability building.
