Summary of the Position: The Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for overseeing global planning, forecasting, and management reporting across regions and departments. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance and Chief Accounting Officer, this role is responsible for setting FP&A strategy, managing and developing a high-performing team, and delivering insightful financial analysis to support executive decision-making, capital allocation, and long-term growth initiatives. The Senior Director will serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership, regional heads, and department leaders, ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and consistency across the organization while continuously enhancing forecasting methodologies, reporting tools, and analytical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles; real estate or alternative asset management experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Onsite presence is required for this position

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • real estate or alternative asset management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the global FP&A team, including direct management of Senior Associates and other FP&A professionals; provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Own the firm-wide annual budget, quarterly reforecast, and long-range planning processes, including timelines, assumptions, analysis, and executive-level deliverables.
  • Partner with regional and department leadership to develop detailed expense projections supporting acquisitions, development initiatives, and new business ventures.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of forecasting and financial models, with a strong focus on analytics, trend analysis, and variance explanations.
  • Prepare and review executive-level materials, including written memos, board and senior management presentations, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Lead global monthly management reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and actionable insights across regions and functions.
  • Drive value-add reporting and strategic analyses related to profitability, cost optimization, revenue opportunities, and investment returns.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to improve data integrity, reporting efficiency, and planning processes.
  • Champion the evolution of internally developed financial applications and business intelligence tools; partner with technology teams on system enhancements and automation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Tishman Speyer’s global business, including existing and emerging regions, asset classes, and new platforms.
  • Establish best practices, controls, and governance across FP&A activities to support scalability and growth.
