About The Position

The Senior Director, Enterprise Systems and Engagement Platforms provides both strategic and hands-on leadership with enterprise accountability for the strategy, reliability, and evolution of the platforms that power supporter engagement and fundraising at UNICEF USA. As the senior leader for our core engagement stack — Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), and Hightouch CDP - this role owns the multi-year strategic roadmap and day-to-day operational performance for these systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, interoperable, and delivering measurable impact against fundraising and advocacy objectives. The Senior Director is accountable for platform governance, vendor and budget decisions, and 24/7 continuity for mission-critical services. This leader serves as a key connector across technology, data, and business teams  - partnering with Direct Response, Marketing & Communications, Analytics, the Enterprise Data Governance team, and UNICEF USA’s Digital Agency of Record — to ensure engagement platforms enable the organization’s Full-Funnel Strategy. Working at the intersection of technology and program, the role advances AI-driven automation, personalization, and data insights that help UNICEF USA connect more effectively with supporters, improve donor acquisition and retention, and strengthen attribution and measurement. Beyond direct platform ownership, this role partners with Finance, People & Culture, Marcomms, Legal, Public Affairs, and other functional system owners to steward an integrated, multi-year technology roadmap for all major enterprise applications. The role establishes standards and operating rhythms (for example, quarterly roadmap alignment and monthly performance reviews), develops business cases for major investments, and leads governance practices that ensure data integrity, compliance, and sustainable platform operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise applications, systems management, or related fields.
  • Proven success managing CRM platforms, marketing automation systems, and customer data platforms (Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hightouch preferred).
  • Strong background in system integration, enterprise architecture, and application lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical strategy into organizational value.
  • Experience managing vendor selection, contracts, and external agency relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise-wide, multi-year technology roadmap and annual operating plans for UNICEF USA’s CRM, Marketing Automation Tools, CDP and related engagement systems. Prioritize investments to maximize fundraising, advocacy and supporter engagement ROI.
  • Provide direct oversight of daily platform operations, including issue management, release planning, system upgrades, and technical debt mitigation.
  • Lead internal teams and external vendors in executing platform enhancements, integrations, and optimization initiatives that advance fundraising and engagement goals.
  • Develop business cases for major investments, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring alignment between technology priorities and organizational value.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for reliability, cost optimization, and user experience; report on performance to key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and data integrity across enterprise engagement platforms in coordination with IT Operations, Cybersecurity, and the Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) team
  • Act as principal technology partner to Direct Response, Marketing & Communications, Analytics and external agency partners to ensure platforms directly enable UNICEF USA’s Full-Funnel Engagement Strategy.
  • Enable AI-driven audience targeting, content personalization, and automated journeys that improve conversion, retention, and advocacy outcomes.
  • Partner with analytics, data science, and Enterprise Data Governance teams to translate platform data into actionable insights, ensuring ethical and effective data use.
  • Manage data-related requests and integrations with external agencies and media partners supporting email, paid media, and social campaigns, maintaining compliance and data-sharing protocols.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across platform and business teams to strengthen collaboration, alignment, and technical fluency.
  • Champion cross-functional engagement, ensuring platform capabilities evolve in step with UNICEF USA’s fundraising, marketing, and advocacy priorities.
  • Partner with technology, data, and business leaders to define shared priorities, dependencies, and sequencing of UNICEF USA’s integrated three-year technology roadmap, ensuring alignment across enterprise platforms to enable a cohesive, future-ready enterprise ecosystem.
  • Drive ongoing coordination across major platforms owned and managed by teams outside of Technology (ADP, Quorum, CLM, NetSuite, Adaptive and others) to strengthen interoperability, eliminate silos, and enhance data integrity across the
  • Review and evaluate requests for new platforms or tools from business stakeholders; guide approval and governance processes and provide informed recommendations or alternatives.
  • Monitor industry and nonprofit technology trends, applying insights to continuously strengthen UNICEF USA’s enterprise systems strategy and capabilities.
  • Oversee vendor and agency relationships, leveraging subject matter expertise to evaluate, select, and manage technology partners that drive performance and value.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and EDG to ensure data-sharing agreements, privacy protocols, and security practices meet UNICEF USA standards.
  • Manage operational and capital budgets for enterprise systems, ensuring financial transparency, efficiency, and return on investment.
  • Establish governance frameworks for technology lifecycle management, procurement, and sustainability.
  • Ensure 24/7 reliability and continuity for mission-critical systems and services supporting UNICEF USA’s operations and supporter engagement.
