About The Position

The Senior Director will be responsible to lead and manage one or multiple teams to provide DMPK platform service in the areas of ADME, Bioanalytical, PK/PD and Metabolism. He/she is responsible for developing and maintainig close positive relationships with project managers, core study team members, and others to drive collaboration and expectations, proactive risk management, productive interdepartmental communications, and excellent project delivery. Provide leadership and mentoring to the team for performance management, career development, recruitment and retention strategies.

Requirements

Masters or Ph.D. in pharmaceutics, chemistry, biological sciences or other related scientific discipline or equivalent in experience; 15 Years experience in pharmaceutical research and development with >10years in a managerial position or relevant work experience (Typically requires 15+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree including 10+ years leading managers, or equivalent experience; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8+ years experience).
Knowledge and personal experience of Drug Development or manufacturing at the manufacturing at the managerial level.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Depth and broad knowledge of Drug Discovery and Development Continuum
Strong ability to drive scientific and operation excellence to deliver scientific results with high quality and time fashion
Strong ability to handle multiple competing priorities across DMPK operating units, inspire effective teamwork/collaboration and motivate staff within a matrix system, and to function as a member of a senior site management team
Extensive experience in the generation and review of a wide variety of business proposals
Significant experience at planning and executing DMPK nonGLP bioanalytical work to investigate novel targets in the field of discovery and development DMPK
Working knowledge of the relationship of the CRO industry with pharmaceutical / biotechnological companies
Proven ability to establish and maintain constructive professional relationship with clients
Provides overall strategic direction and vision for function or business unit through subordinate directors/management
Leads multiple departments or large cross functional programs
Partners with executives on corporate priorities
Oversees large scale budgets and resources
Anticipates industry trends and integrates them into strategy
Demonstrates executive presence, influence and foresight
Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over conferencing and via phone
Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to biohazards / Chemicals.
Frequent use of hand and fingers for typing, writing and handling documents
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, often requiring focus and attention to detail.
Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels
Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time
Ability to lift/push/pull 5 -10lbs.
Clarity of Vision
Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions
Ability to climb Ladders / Stairs / Scaffolding
Travel if required

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise a team of scientific/technical, operational, administrative and performance activities in the DMPK non-GLP Bioanalytical function
Promote business, science and reputation for global DMPK
Lead team to deliver target revenue and improve profit margin by managing resources and cost efficiently and effectively
Set priority and allocate appropriate resources/work on multiple levels and across functions to achieve key objectives
Manage and mentor team personnel performance through motivation and performance recognition, their career advancement and continue education
Lead new product launch and implement new strategies and technologies to enhance DMPK nonGLP Bioanalytical capabilities. Maintain an up-to-date market overview to identify innovative business opportunities to bring DMPK to a new level.
Evaluate service cost, provide pricing strategy, and serve as functional technical/scientific experts for business department and commercial team to win business
Ensure the team's full compliance with WuXi AppTec’s safety policies, department and facility SOPs/Guidance to maintain a safe work environment and regulatory compliance
Responsible for sponsors and regulatory authority audit
Contribute to the organizational and strategic planning of the DMPK
Ability to lead, manage, organize, and interact effectively with other teams, stakeholders and sponsors
May lead multi-functions on operation and business
