About The Position

We have an opportunity for a visionary Senior Director of Data Science to lead our enterprise-wide AI and data science strategy, with a strong focus on generative AI and large language models (LLMs). Reporting VP, Data & AI, this senior-level role will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers and oversee geo-disbursed data science teams, drive innovation across product lines, and partner with senior leadership to embed AI into the core of our networking and cybersecurity solutions. The ideal candidate excels at managing remote, senior-level data scientists and fostering a high-performing distributed team culture. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI at our company, fostering a culture of excellence, experimentation, and impact.

Requirements

Over 10 years of experience in data science, AI, or related fields, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles. A proven ability to scale teams and deliver enterprise AI solutions, with a strong track record of managing remote senior-level data scientists
Deep technical expertise in Python, ML frameworks, big data technologies (Spark, Kafka), and cloud-native AI deployment. Strong proficiency in LLMs, NLP, and neural networks
Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable AI strategies. Experience leading transformation initiatives through data-driven decision-making and innovation
Experience deploying models in cloud environments using MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, CI/CD pipelines), and managing containerized workflows with Docker and Kubernetes
Domain knowledge in networking, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure. Insights from experience in threat intelligence or secure networking
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with a preference for candidates with a Master's or Ph.D.
Clear communication of technical concepts to executive stakeholders and the ability to influence strategic decisions across the organization
A track record of delivering innovative AI solutions from concept to production, consistently achieving measurable business impact

Responsibilities

Drive the strategic roadmap for AI, ML, and generative AI initiatives across the organization. Focus on high-impact opportunities that align with business goals and deliver measurable value
Cultivate and lead high-performing, remote-first data science teams. Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning across distributed environments
Design and implement advanced AI solutions using LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance automation, threat detection, and predictive analytics
Ensure robust, secure, and scalable deployment of AI models across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) using modern MLOps practices
Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Business teams to integrate AI into products and workflows, solving real-world challenges
Engage with external AI communities, academic institutions, and industry leaders to position the company at the forefront of innovation
Implement governance frameworks that ensure ethical AI development, including bias mitigation, transparency, and regulatory compliance
