About The Position

The Senior Director of Community Engagement and Student Investment leads the development, coordination, and sustainability of community partnerships and resources that address student needs and advance organizational goals. This role oversees integrated service delivery across health, behavioral health, social-emotional learning, basic needs, mentoring, tutoring, academic supports, and parent engagement. The position provides strategic leadership to ensure resource cultivation that supports high-quality youth development practices, promotes collective investment in student outcomes, and leads domain-specific initiatives and projects. As an organizational leader, this role collaborates closely with peer leaders to support strategic planning, organizational priorities, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in youth development, education, child welfare, or related fields.
Knowledge of child and adolescent development and whole-child practices.
Program and budget management experience required.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and public speaking skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
Valid driver’s license, vehicle, insurance, flexible hours, ability to pass background and driving checks.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in social work with master’s level licensure preferred.
Community organizing experience preferred.
Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Guides and supports staff without direct reporting relationships (e.g., support development team with outreach to partners and volunteers; guide site teams’ strategy to address partner or volunteer concerns).
Oversees appropriate use of facilities and technology resources.
Communicates clearly and effectively through listening, speaking, and writing.
Contributes to organizational messaging and promotional strategies aligned with CIS brand.
Demonstrates strong public speaking skills and the ability to explain complex information to diverse audiences.
Builds and sustains partnerships across service domains, including health, behavioral health, SEL, basic needs, mentoring, tutoring, and family engagement.
Enhances CIS visibility and reputation through community engagement.
Shares evidence-based practices and standards to build organizational capacity.
Maintains expertise in assigned domains and shares updates with colleagues.
Stays current with professional standards and applies learning to practice.
Engages in ongoing learning related to youth development, child and adolescent health, and volunteer engagement.
Oversees budgets, monitoring, reporting, purchasing, and resource development related to assigned domains.
Provides project management and oversight for initiatives such as behavioral health grants and food pantry conversions.
Demonstrates proactive planning and accountability to meet organizational goals.
Promotes integrated student supports and collective investment in student success.
Centers student and family needs in decision-making and strategy.
Advances equity by addressing barriers and promoting fair outcomes for all students.
Represents CIS to strengthen community partnerships and investment.
Supports staff, Board members, volunteers, and partners in becoming effective CIS advocates.
Advances strategic planning and organizational priorities through community engagement.
Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment.
Ensures compliance with Total Quality System (TQS) standards as applicable.
Maintains confidentiality and respectful relationships with all stakeholders.
