About The Position

The Sr. Director of Campus Business Services provides strategic leadership and oversight for essential campus service operations including, Contract Management, Dining Services, Campus Bookstore, Mail and Document Services, Vending Services, Shipping and Receiving, Campus Office Equipment Management and other auxiliary enterprises. This role ensures high-quality, cost-effective, and student- and campus-focused services that support the institution’s mission and enhance the campus experience. The Senior Director collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align services with institutional goals, manage contracts, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in auxiliary services, contract management, or campus operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in high-level contract negotiation, vendor management, and complex business reviews.
  • Proven ability to motivate diverse teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a complex organizational environment.
  • Familiarity with higher education business practices, facilities planning, and procurement technologies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to function highly among faculty, staff, and external entities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the centralized authority for all Facilities, Real Estate, and Capital Project vendor contracts.
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Buyer, Procurement, oversee the RFQ, RFP, and RFI business processes for large-scale facility equipment and services to leverage total institutional spend for optimal pricing.
  • Centralize the business review process for third-party contracts, ensuring consistent legal protections and language across all institutional agreements.
  • Review vendor performance data to identify underperforming contracts or opportunities to consolidate multiple vendors into a single master service agreement.
  • Standardize and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all third-party service providers, including dining, bookstore, and mail services.
  • Maintain strategic oversight of outsourced auxiliary services (Dining, Bookstore, Mail, Vending, and Shipping/Receiving) as part of a broader professionalized infrastructure portfolio.
  • In collaboration with the Vice President, Finance and Sr. Buyer Procurement, develops and implements long-term procurement strategies, designed to reduce costs while improving service quality.
  • Act as the primary liaison for Legal and Risk Management regarding contractual liability for all physical plant and auxiliary activities.
  • In collaboration with the Risk Manager, provide strategic direction for institutional risk
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure all contract terms align with general audit requirements.
  • Manage budgets to ensure the financial sustainability of all auxiliary and centralized contract operations.
  • Coordinate with campus departments, including Legal, Finance, Facilities, and campus partners on Student Engagement and Enrollment, to ensure vendor services support academic and community needs.
  • Lead initiatives to modernize service delivery and innovate procurement practices in alignment with campus priorities.
