About The Position

The Senior Digital Marketing Manager will be the driving force behind Quarto’s digital growth, leading innovative, data‑powered marketing strategies across paid social, Amazon, affiliates, and emerging platforms. This role owns the full digital funnel—building standout campaigns that boost discovery, engagement, and sales for both frontlist and backlist titles across adult and children’s categories. As a champion of digital experimentation and market‑first thinking, this leader will leverage testing, analytics, and performance insights to unlock new opportunities and deliver measurable commercial impact. They will collaborate closely with Marketing, Metadata, Sales, and Editorial partners to amplify Quarto’s digital footprint, strengthen visibility across channels, and accelerate category‑wide sales momentum. This position will be based in either our New York, NY or Beverly, MA office on a hybrid schedule, but we are open to considering remote opportunities for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree a plus.
  • 5-7+ years leading omnichannel digital marketing in publishing, ecommerce, or retail media—owning strategy, execution, and optimization.
  • Expertise in Amazon Advertising (Sponsored Products/Brands/Display, DSP), Amazon Vendor/Author Central, and retail media networks.
  • Hands‑on experience with paid social (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube), display/programmatic, and affiliate programs.
  • Proven ability to build KPI frameworks, attribution models, analyze performance, and convert insights into actions that drive sales across frontlist and backlist.
  • Demonstrated leadership: mentoring, capability building, and cross‑functional influence with Marketing, Sales, and Editorial.
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to synthesize complex data into clear narratives and executive recommendations.
  • Independent, data‑driven decision‑maker; comfortable challenging assumptions and advocating for test‑and‑learn strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, and budgets in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Tool fluency: Excel, analytics dashboards; Jungle Scout / Cobalt, Canva, and collaboration tools.
  • Media agency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and optimize a comprehensive digital strategy across Amazon, other retailers like Bookshop.org, paid search, paid social, display, and affiliates.
  • Own end‑to‑end performance measurement: define KPIs, build dashboards, and translate insights into clear actions that improve ROAS and revenue.
  • Steward the digital marketing budget—including planning, pacing, optimization, and actualization—to maximize ROI and title/category growth.
  • Drive discovery and sales for frontlist and backlist titles across adult and children’s categories.
  • Lead excellence across Amazon Ads and DSP to drive conversion on platform and work with in-house and external Amazon partners.
  • Champion test‑and‑learn: A/B testing across ad creative, audience, and placements.
  • Partner with Marketing, Metadata, Sales, and Editorial to align go‑to‑market plans and seasonal campaigns to commercial objectives.
  • Develop content, social, influencer, and affiliate strategies that expand reach and efficiently drive incremental sales.
  • Manage external agencies and platform partners; negotiate opportunities, evaluate proposals, and ensure best‑in‑class execution.
  • Establish standards for digital best practices; codify playbooks across imprints and categories.
  • Provide clear, executive‑ready communication: synthesize results, category trends, and competitive insights into recommendations for leadership.
  • Lead risk‑managed innovation: pilot new channels, formats, and beta programs; measure impact and institutionalize what works.
