About The Position

The Senior Digital Content Specialist will be a creative and collaborative member of the Marketing and Communications Department responsible for producing high-quality, compelling visual content for the College across a variety of platforms and planning content strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Certificate (drone license)

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of digital content by generating creative ideas to tell the Middlesex College brand story on existing and new platforms and at live events.
  • Ensures digital content reflects the College’s mission, values, and brand standards.
  • Partners closely with College leadership, including the President and Board of Trustees, to strategically align digital content and displays with institutional priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Translates institutional priorities into clear, engaging digital content for internal and external audiences.
  • Takes professional photos on the Edison Campus or at The Centers (New Brunswick and Perth Amboy) and at the various College events as requested. These photos may be indoors or outdoors and may be during evening and weekend hours.
  • Attends athletics games and events to take photographs of student athletes and coaches.
  • Uses photo manipulation software such as Adobe Suite to get desired results in line with branding.
  • Shoots and edits short- and long-form video content for web, social media, digital advertising, and internal communications, ensuring all final deliverables align with College branding and accessibility standards.
  • Manages post-production workflows including video editing, color correction, sound mixing, captioning, and file formatting using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and related tools.
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications team members and campus partners to translate creative briefs into polished video assets, meeting deadlines for campaigns, events, and institutional priorities.
  • Handles concept and storyboard development; location scouting and booking; managing content production schedules; securing talent; and editing.
  • Develops a library of images that can be used on the College’s website; social media; press materials; events; paid advertisements such as television commercials and social media paid advertising; and other marketing collateral.
  • Archives footage and related assets.
  • Supervises and provides guidance to work-study students and interns, including assigning tasks, training on equipment and workflows, and reviewing completed content for quality and brand alignment.
  • Maintains equipment storage system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
