About The Position

This position is in CMSD, which is part of Renesas' Analog & Mixed Signal organization. The CMSD R D team develops and industrializes highly configurable mixed-signal products for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to consumer, communication, computing, data center, industrial, and automotive applications. CMSD team is the pioneer and dominant market leader of the highly successful GreenPAKTM family of products. This customer configurable product and platform enable customers to differentiate their products, reduces BOM cost and development cost and time. CMSD team is continuously expanding our product portfolio that includes high performance analog IP's and FPGA. As a Senior Digital Architect, you will be playing a leadership role in the development of CMSD next-generation configurable mixed-signal platform. This is a major undertaking for CMSD and will have profound impact on our growth in the next 5 to 10 years. You will collaborate closely with leaders in Application, Production Definition, and Marketing to develop a comprehensive strategy that interweaves chip design, software, and application hardware development. This is a senior technical leadership position, and you will be working with design and program managers to drive NPI (New Product Introduction) execution as well as continuous efficiency and performance improvement.

Requirements

  • MSEE or PhD in EE + 15 years semiconductor design leadership experience
  • Proven track record in leading high-performance and complex mixed-signal IC development.
  • Proven track record in taking designs from concept to high-volume production.
  • Highly knowledgeable in power products and the required digital IPs.
  • Highly knowledgeable in transceiver products and the required digital IPs.
  • Highly knowledgeable in state-of-the-art digital design methodologies and tools.
  • Strong knowledge in software for IC configurability such as CMSD's Go-Configure and general FPGA design tools.
  • Strong knowledge in state-of-the-art mixed-signal process technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • System and application knowledge in CMSD target markets a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Architect complex mixed-signal ICs integrating advanced IPs such as MCU, NVM, buck and boost converters, data converters, precision amplifiers and comparators, and oscillators.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for CMSD next-generation configurable platform in collaboration with Application, Production Definition, and Marketing.
  • Develop advanced IP for CMSD application-specific standard products such as digital control FSM for the PowerPAK family as well as embedded DSP for the ADCPAK family.
  • Sharpen overall CMSD digital design methodology in collaboration with our internal digital design and verification teams.
  • Guide and mentor CMSD's global Design, Characterization, and Test Engineering team on state-of-the-art digital test techniques.
  • Collaborate with Product Definition and Marketing on product roadmaps and long-term IP development plans.
  • Represent CMSD R D and contribute to key technical meetings and initiatives at BU A&C and company level.
