Under general supervision, using a high level of individual judgment and critical thinking skills, conducts complete and focused clinical nutrition assessments, prioritization of complex data, problem solving, counseling and regimen adjustments for high risk patients, such as patients who have diabetes with complication, multi-system organ failure, Stage IV pressure ulcers (etc.) of all ages within specialty practice of Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). Works in conjunction with other health care professionals, such as pharmacists, nurses, and physicians to maintain optimal nutrition health for individual with potential or known alteration in nutritional status.
